Project Assessment for Yemen's Asphalt Plant Requirements
The journey began with the client's inquiry for a reliable, high-capacity asphalt mixing plant suitable for large-scale highway projects in Yemen. Given the region’s extreme heat and the need for continuous, high-quality output, LYROAD's engineering team recommended the ALB1500 model. This stationary batch plant is part of our advanced ALB series, known for its European-standard design, durable components, and energy-saving features. Key customizations included optimizing the drying drum and burner to handle local aggregates and ensuring the control system (featuring SIEMENS electronics) was robust for continuous operation in a challenging climate. The inclusion of a Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) recycling technology option was also a critical factor in the client's decision, aligning with modern, sustainable infrastructure practices.
Following the contract signing, the manufacturing process at LYROAD's Quanzhou manufacturing base was initiated. Our stringent quality control procedures ensured that all components, such as the cold aggregate bins and the drying drum, met the exact specifications of the ALB1500 standard asphalt plant. The modular design of the plant was a key focus during production, guaranteeing ease of containerization and subsequent on-site assembly, a crucial element for a successful turnkey solution delivery in Yemen.
Seamless Logistics: ALB1500 Asphalt Plant Delivery to Yemen
The shipment phase was meticulously executed to ensure the safe and timely arrival of the asphalt plant. As reported in our shipment news article, the entire asphalt batching plant was containerized between June 12-15, 2025, at our manufacturing base. The complete ALB1500 unit required 14 containers, a testament to its scale and capacity. The cargo departed from Xiamen Port, China, destined for Aden Port, Yemen. Our logistics team employed specialized maritime transportation protocols to protect the equipment during the ocean voyage, which was expected to take approximately one month.
The successful arrival in mid-July 2025 marked the transition to the on-site phase. Our localized service strategy, supported by our Middle East technical support center, ensured all necessary customs clearance and transportation arrangements were handled efficiently to move the equipment from Aden Port to the final project site.
Turnkey Assembly: ALB1500 Hot Mix Plant Commissioning
In September 2025, the full assembly and commissioning were performed on-site in Yemen, demonstrating the ease of installation provided by the plant's modular, containerized design. LYROAD’s experienced engineering team arrived on-site beforehand to prepare for the supervision of the installation process. This involved the careful erection of the mixing tower, the connection of the dust collection system, and the integration of the bitumen storage and supply system.
After the successful installation, the critical commissioning and trial operation phase took place in October 2025. Our engineers worked closely with the client's local team, providing comprehensive operational and maintenance training. The focus was on optimizing the plant's performance for the local high-temperature mix design, ensuring the precise weighing and batching systems delivered consistent, high-quality hot mix asphalt (HMA). The successful commissioning confirmed the ALB1500 asphalt plant's capacity to deliver its rated 120 t/h output, marking the official commencement of operations for the client's highway construction projects.
