A wet mix plant is a set of equipment for road sub-base construction. A wet mix macadam plant adopts a pug mill to homogenize aggregate / crushed stones, water and cement power together, producing a mix called cement-bound material (CBM). It is also name as WMM plant, wet mix macadam plant, and the like. Typically, a wet mix plant works with an asphalt plant to produce material mix for road pavement.
With prices ranging from USD48,500 to USD65,000 , a WMM plant is not so expensive compared with other road construction machinery. Many road contractors choose to buy a wet mix macadam plant for their road construction projects. Daily operation costs and maintenance costs are very low. Therefore, the return on investment of a wet mix plant is very fast and many road contractors start their business from it.
Typically, a wet mix plant is consisting of 7 components: 1. Aggregate Feeding System
4 / 5 /6 feeder bins, with VFD discharge belt conveyors and a collection belt conveyor and a weight scale, etc. Its main function is: weighing and batching aggregate; VFD motors can regulate feed rate according to the actual recipe. 2. Inclined Belt Conveyors
B500 belt conveyor, width @500mm, transport the already weighed aggregate to pugmill mixer.
3. Pugmill Mixer
Twin-shaft pugmill mixer. Driven by two asynchronous motors, the two shafts rotate in different direction. 4. Cement Silo
For storage cement powder, with screw conveyors to transport cement to pugmill. 5. Water Tank
For storage and supply water to pugmill, with scale, pump and pipes. 6. Finish Mix Storage Bin
A overhead bin for temporary storage of finish mix. It can discharge finish mix to a truck via a pneumatic door. 7. Control Room
Control Room is also called MCC, that is the main control cabinet, where power distribution unit, PLC control units and other office furniture are deployed for operation of the plant.
