In the following day, motorists in Pierre, South Dakota, should be aware that various phases of road work will be taking place today through the rest of the work week on some city streets. Asphalt paving is scheduled to occur on a handful of Pierre streets today, including Hyde Drive, Lakewood Drive and Grand Avenue from Elizabeth Street north. The city says as part of the paving operations, Elizabeth Street will be closed today at the Grand Avenue intersection for much of the day.

Starting tomorrow, milling operations are expected to start-with work continuing through Friday. On Riverside Drive, street crews plan to grind off the top layer of the road off Country Drive either today or tomorrow. This work could create a delay in access to both Riverside Drive and Riverplace Drive. The city advises that traffic will be moved as often as possible in that area of Pierre, but there could be delays of 10-12 minutes.
